MANIFESTATION - A DIVINE PERSPECTIVE

                                      

                                               Genesis 11:31-12:1; Acts 7:1-4.

Manifestation is a function of having a divine perspective of our journey in life. We must have a clear-cut understanding of our reason for existence in life, i.e. the purpose for which God has created us. 

Manifesting or showing forth the glory of God, is a by-product of knowing or having a spiritual understanding of where He has taken us from, where we are, and where He is taking us to.

The Christian race is not a game of chance, neither is it a ‘guess-work’ as some people think. It is a race for which we have been pre-destined, it is a race which we must run and complete, through the help of the Holy Spirit (1 Cor. 9:24-26). 

Please, at this point, it's also very important for us to note that, you might not necessarily have a comprehensive view of the spiritual journey of your life at the initial stage...some get just glimpses of it...God reveals them in bits, but as you step into the journey, the view gets clearer, the scope gets wider, yet your eyes of understanding become more enlightened.

Many generations passed between Shem (one of the sons of Noah) and Abraham, with no significant impact, but God had chosen Abraham before the foundation of the earth to manifest His glory (Romans 8:30).

Looking at the life of Abraham, the first time God appeared to him, he was in Mesopotamia. I believe the call was also routed through Terah, his father (Gen. 11:31).

God can route His call upon your life through any chosen vessel. He can use your father, mother, relative, friends or even circumstances and situations you go through.

It’s possible for Abraham to have been naive about the call at the initial stage, 

just like Samuel, but thank God he did not miss it. May we never miss the call of God upon our lives.

Moreover, through divine orchestration, his father, Terah left Nahor, (Abraham’s brother) in Ur of the Chaldeans (also called Mesopotamia). The reasons for these became clearer in Genesis 22:20-23; Genesis 24).

Guess what? Terah ended his journey in Haran… however, Abraham’s call (journey) was beyond Haran. God had to reveal Himself to Abraham again to set him on pilgrimage. Blessed is the man whose heart is set on pilgrimage (Psalm 84:5).

Another thing we need to see here is that, it was after Terah’s death that God could re-direct Abraham’s path to the place of destiny. 

In this story, Abraham mirrored the life of a convert whom God has called out of the world value system, and should never have any cause to go back into it. Even Isaac was never allowed to go there. He also mirrored the life of an ‘apostle’ who was called out, separated to initiate what would eventually culminate in a global harvest (Isaiah 51:1-2).

While Abraham was a type and shadow of missionaries sent on apostolic mandates, Nahor was a type and shadow of the remnant church, breeding, developing and nurturing the ‘chosen bride’ in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation. (Are you among the ‘chosen bride’ being nurtured and prepared for the coming of the Lord? Remember, many are called, but few are chosen…)

Don’t choose for God! Allow Him to chart the course of your life in 2017. Let Him direct your steps as He wills. He alone, through His divine counsel can bring you into the fulfilment of destiny. 

…Then your light shall break forth like the morning, your healing shall spring forth speedily, and your righteousness shall go before you; the glory of the Lord shall be your rear guard (Isaiah 58:8).

 

If God could use Abraham to manifest His glory, He can use you!
