YOUR FAITH HAS MADE YOU WHOLE

Luke 17:11-19

There is a connection between faith and healing. In several instances in the Bible, Jesus declared to people, ‘…your faith has made you whole…’.

In our anchor text is the story of the ten lepers who met with Jesus on His way to Jerusalem. These men, cried aloud unto Him, saying, ‘Jesus, Master! Have mercy upon us!’.

For someone in a state of despondency, maybe you are just a ‘heart-cry’ away from your desired healing. As you lift up your voice to Him today, the Lord will answer your prayer.
In response, Jesus instructed them to go and present themselves to the priest for thorough examination and certification (Lev. 13).

The Lord specialises in doing things in the unusual and unexpected way! In the same manner, He told the servants at the wedding reception in Cana of Galilee, ‘…draw out some, and take it to the master of the feast…’ (John 2:8).

In another situation, He told a leper, ‘…be clean’ and his leprosy was cleaned. His judgments are unsearchable and His ways are past finding out.

And it came to pass, that, as they went, they were cleansed!
Your desired miracle lies in obedience to the Word of God. Alas, not everyone can see the healing and restoration that God has bestowed upon them…

While they were still engrossed with the journey to the priest’s office for validation, one of them ‘saw’ that he had been healed, turned back, re-traced his steps to the Master, and glorified God with a loud voice.

Furthermore, this man fell down on his face at the feet of Jesus, giving Him thanks, worshipping and praising Him…! And he was a Samaritan!

Where were the other folks? This was the same question the Master asked. They were striving diligently to get to the presence of the priest, so that the priest would certify them clean. They had met with the Spiritual and the Great High Priest, yet, they sought the validation of human priest so much that they fought to show appreciation to God.

Having begun in the Spirit, they sought perfection by the flesh (Gal. 3:3).

Don’t let it surprise you that the Master is still asking the same question today. Where are the others? Has no one returned to give glory to God except this foreigner?

Many people are not even aware that they have been made whole, they still see themselves the way the world sees them. Some are waiting for prophets, priests and others to give them a verdict before they can believe the Word of God. The Samaritan caught wind of the heavenly perspective and he ‘saw’ that he had been healed.

And the Master declared to him, ‘Arise, go your way. Your faith has made you whole’.

For those who choose to glorify the Master, in spite of their circumstances, He says to you… ‘Arise!’ And as you arise, you will shine forth as the brightness of the firmament.

The glory of the Lord will be seen upon you, in the name of Jesus Christ.

HEALING AND RESTORATION

Mark 5:21-43

Divine healing is one of the covenant rights of God’s children. It is God’s desire that we live in good health, above all things (3 John 2).
Important lessons to draw from the anchor text:

A lifestyle of worship gives you access to the Master's presence.

True worshippers will always secure the Master's attention. True worshippers are not mindful of what people will say. They are ever willing to bow before the King of Glory! God will sometimes allow some situations to occur in our lives, in order to bring us to our knees, He would rather put to death, everything that is of self, so that Christ alone will remain and live in us (Gal. 2:20).

Some of the ways we can worship God are:

Through our response to the Word of God
Through prayer
Through songs, etc.

Faith is the link to God’s power.

It’s the key to releasing the supernatural.
Through faith, walls of limitation become doors that lead to greater heights.
Through the hearing of faith, the Spirit of grace is set in motion…
Through the hearing of faith, the woman with the issue of blood drew the healing virtue from the Master (Mark 9:27-34).
In the midst of turmoil and difficult situations, people and circumstances of life will tell you, ‘why are you troubling the Master?’, ‘you do not need to pray any further, this is a rather hopeless situation’…
The Master’s response is this: ‘Be not afraid, only believe!’ (Mark 5:36).

The deep things of God are not found on the surface.

The secret of the Lord is with them that fear Him… (Psalm 25:14).
When God wants to reveal a greater dimension of His greatness and power, He reveals them to people who have a genuine and insatiable longing for Him (Mark 5:37).

The Word of God reveals the intents and thoughts of men’s hearts…

When Jesus declared that the girl wasn’t dead, but was rather sleeping, the same people wo were meant to be weeping, mourning and wailing, laughed Him to scorn. The Word of God reveals the real identity of people and convicts their hearts! (Heb. 4:12-13; John 2:23-25).

Furthermore, some situations have been strategically positioned in your life, in order to mock the integrity of God’s Word in your life.

Shut the door of your heart against ungodly thoughts, reasoning, communication, association, etc.

Unplug yourself from such association or gathering. Cut off every form of relationship with them… Come out from the midst of them…

After all these, Jesus said to the damsel, ‘Talitha cumi’ which means, ‘Damsel, I say unto you, arise’. And immediately, she arose and walked…

Likewise, through the authority of the Word of God, I declare that every dead situation in your life will arise, in the name of Jesus Christ. Every ‘dry bone’ situation in your life will rise again…

The same God who quickens the dead and declares those things that be not as though they were, He will bring to life, everything that represents death in your life (Romans 4:17).

DIVINE HEALING THROUGH THE MERCY OF GOD

Bible reading: Matt.9:35-38
·      Divine healing is one of the most appreciated promises of God. The Old Testament records many occasions of healing by God’s power.

-     While Jesus was also on earth, the major element of His ministry was divine healing to all who looked to Him with the heart of faith. Acts 10:38

-     These miraculous healings continued among the New Testament Apostles and other believers who worked in faith. Act. 5:14-16

·      Divine healing is received through faith, but most of those seeking healing overlook another important way to access God’s divine healing touch; which is “approaching the throne of mercy Ps.6:2-4

-     The Psalmist understood that pleading for the mercy of God is a powerful way to receive divine healing from God.

·      Jesus healed a lot of people as a response to the word “Lord Have Mercy On Me”.
Matt.9:27-30.
-     Two things played out here, firstly, they attracted Jesus’ attention by pleading on His mercy and secondly, they believed with faith in their heart to receive healing.

·      The story of the Canaanite woman who Jesus commended as having great faith got the attention of Jesus by pleading for Mercy even when she didn’t deserve it.
Matt.15:22,26,27,28

·      Our faith must appeal to the Mercy of God for divine healing to take place.

-     Whether you deserve divine healing really does not matter.  Approach Jesus by pleading on His  Mercy

As you plead for Mercy, the Mercy of God will speak on your behalf in Jesus Christ name.

·      The best way to access the divine healing is through the Mercy of God

-     Many times people have gained access by first calling out for His mercy.

·      In Luke 1:5-7 (Bishop, Pastor) Priest Zacharias and his wife (Prophetess) Elizabeth had a long standing relationship with God and for many years there was no child to show for it.

·      But when the child finally came, neighbours, cousin and relatives could only say this is Great Mercy from the Lord and not their long years in the place of service.
Luke 1:57-58

It doesn’t matter how long you have been serving and expecting, as you plead on His mercy today, God will show great mercy to you in the mighty name of Jesus Christ.
Heb.4:15-16(KJV and British New Int’l Version)

·      In this sinful and perverse world of ours, we constantly battle with weakness on spiritual matters because of the cares of this world.

-     Jesus became man and even without sin he experienced human weakness and a desperate need for survival. Remember the Bible records that Jesus was “tempted of the devil” (Matt.4:1); he was hungry (Matt.4:2); and  “wept” for the sake of man (John 11:35), etc.

-     Are you feeling weak, down casted or without hope, etc.? Just come and plead on His mercy and He will look to your direction with His divine healing power.

·      God wants his mercy (compassion) to be part of our healing testimony. Rom.9:15

·      The Mercy of God is a platform that gives an uninterrupted access to both believers and unbelievers Matt.9:11-13

·      Mercy is an access created by Jesus for anyone who can call on His name John 6:37

·      Are you ready to become a vessel of the expression of God’s mercy?

-     Divine healing is very much available if you can plead on the Mercy of God

In Conclusion
Hab.3:2
-     The situation of the land may have brought the wrath and anger of God,
-     Our life may not be too pleasing to God
-     Our lives even though might display some form of righteousness and much of service but may still lack the abiding presence of God.

PRAYER
-     In all, by your mercy and grace, heal my land, heal my situation, heal my predicament in Jesus name.
