CHECK YOUR VALUE SYSTEM

Romans 12:1-2; Hebrews 5:12-14

Brethren! It's time for us to reflect and examine ourselves, whether we are still in the faith...
Watch your values (belief/operating system), they shape your decisions, your decisions determine your actions; your actions graduate to your habits... your habits eventually determine your perception to life...

Some of the areas in which we need to examine our value systems include the following:
Kingdom Culture/Lifestyle
Seek first, the Kingdom of God and His righteousness... Matt. 6:33; 5:6
Are you a kingdom addict?

Are your priorities rightly set? Are you a seeker of God? Do you thirst and hunger for His righteousness?

Do you care about your spiritual life, are you growing in the faith?
Is your lifestyle leading/attracting others to Christ or sending people away from Christ?
2 Cor. 13:5

A rightly developed value system gives room for a well-balanced growth.
Let your value system be built on prayer and the Word of God.

Purity/chastity... it's beyond just being moral, but living a Godly inspired life by grace (Joseph in Potiphar's house)
Romans 5:20

Discipleship/Training

Jesus trained His disciples for three and half years, to rightly position them for ministry.
The Antioch experience (Barnabbas) - Acts 11:19-26
Are you being thoroughly furnished unto good works?
Bezaleel and Aholiab were taught by the Lord (Exodus 31:1-6; 35:30-35; 36:1-3).
David was taught by the Lord (2 Samuel 22:35; Psalm 18:35; 144:1).
If you are God-trained, you will be God-certified!
Are you receiving the required training?
Are you being empowered for the next phase of your life, calling, ministry?

Family/Relationship

Are you living peaceably with your spouse? Do you cherish your spouse? Do you believe in creating time to unwind' and spend quality time with your family? When was the last time you spoke good and kind words to your spouse and children?
Please note that God is interested in your marriage, relationship...
Leave to cleave Are you dwelling with the wife/husband of your youth in unity and Godly love? Ephesians 5:31-33 (Gen. 2:24); Psalm 45:10.

Woman, submit to your husband as unto the Lord
Ephesians 5:22-24
Husband, love your wife as Christ loved the Church
Ephesians 5:25-29

Godly parenting Are you transmitting Godly values into your children? Proverbs 22:6; 2 Timothy 1:5
As a lady, your value system determines who you attract...

As a young man, your value system determines who attracts you...

Business, career, & ministry

Diligence Prov. 10:4; 12:24
Discipline
2 Timothy 1:7
Integrity/character
Psalm 78:72
Competence
Daniel 5:12
Depth/Professionalism/Commitment to excellence/Dexterity
Service orientation - (not given to rent-seeking mind-set/entitlement mentality)
Delayed gratification, etc.

May we be good examples to follow and not bad examples to avoid.

Our value systems have to be thoroughly checked from time to time, to ensure that we are in perfect synch with the mind of the Spirit (being constantly renewed in the spirit of your mind), Ephesians 4:23.

May the Lord enable us to run with diligence, the race that has been set before us, shedding every unnecessary weights that easily beset us.

ENGAGING THE POWER OF PRAISE

2Chro.20:20-30

There is need to cultivate the act of thanksgiving through praise and worship as we begin to wrap up the year. The Bible says ‘God inhabits the praise of His people” and whatever cannot stop God cannot stop your praise. Those who know how to appreciate God move God to do the extraordinary. The Bible says King Jehoshaphat engaged the battle with the power of praise, as you take to praise, every battle of life will take to flight in Jesus Christ mighty name.

Praise is a weapon of war, not for entertainment. 2Chro. 20:22. Nothing brings solution effortlessly like the power of praise. Paul and Silas engaged God in praise even in the prison. Acts 16:25-26. Every gate of brass that the enemy has shut against your life, your home, your business will be scattered in Jesus Christ name. The miracle God did that day led the jailor and others to give their lives to Christ. What God will do through you will lead men to Christ.

The 3 Hebrew boys found themselves in the fiery furnace and the fourth man showed up. Dan. 4:21-26. I don’t know the situation you have found yourself but as you take to praise, The Fourth Man will show up and deliver you.

From our anchor text; The Bible say in 2Chro. 20:22-23, three nations came together against the children of Israel. The Bible says “surely, they will gather” and truly 3 nations gathered against Israel
I don’t know how many are gathering over your matter. Enemies in your village, in the city, at work, in your household, in the church, etc. will all fall for your sake. The Lord will send ambushment against your enemies.

In 2Chro. 22:25-26 Because the people took to praise, God gave them great recovery. Do you know what it means to be packing and packing non-stop for 3 days? That will be your portion, in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. As you take to praise, you will recover back all your blessing, Ps.126, Joel 2:25-26. A man who know how to praise God will always live in abundance. It is our year of Goodness and Mercy. You will enjoy the goodness of God more than ever before.

In 2Chro. 20:27-28, the people return home with joy and gladness. Ps. 5:11-12. A man of praise will always command the presence and the favour of God. Prov.16:7. Celebrate God in your praise and stop complaining. Ps.147:1-3. For everyone under the sound of my voice this morning, say to yourself “IT WILL END IN PRAISE”. The Bible says in Neh.8:10 “….for the joy of the LORD is my strength”.

God’s praise shall be your strength and you will eat fat, and have enough to bless other.
In 2Chro. 20:29-30, the fear of God came upon their enemy. Phil. 4:7, the Lord will give you peace of
mind, it shall be peace all-round, in the mighty name of Jesus Christ.

What Praise and Worship Can Do
1.      Praise gives direct access to the throne of grace (God) Ps.95:2
2.      Praise is a better substitute to sacrifices or offerings. Ps 69:29-31, 1Sam.15:22
3.      Praise is one of the ways of making our request known to God. Phil 4:6
4.      Praise brings favour, enlargement, promotion, protection and breakthroughs with ease. 1Chro.29:10-12

In Conclusion, The Bible says in 2Chro. 20:20 ……. Believe your prophet and you shall prosper. That situation, WILL END IN PRAISE. you will pass that exams, get that job, receive that good news, give birth to life children, because it must end in praise. And so shall it be in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy ghost. Amen.

Shalom!

WISDOM FOR EXCELLENCE

Introduction
From the scripture text (Daniel 1:3 – 20), we cannot agree any less that wisdom is very key to success in life. Little wonder the bible says, Wisdom [is] the principal thing; [therefore] get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding. (Pro 4:7)

What then is wisdom and excellence, our key words in today’s sermon?

·      Wisdom from Dictionary means ability to understand things that most other people cannot understand. It could also mean knowledge of what is proper or reasonable: good sense or judgment.
·       Excellence simply means an extremely high quality

It really takes wisdom to be excellent in whatever we do. In this teaching, I will be using Daniel as a case study. Daniel just like Joseph exhibited the wisdom of God that I will like all of us to learn from.  First let me try and draw out some lessons or points from the readings

·       It is the king’s ideas/suggestions that certain of the Hebrew children are brought into the Babylonian royal team. Daniel and others has nothing to do with it - Verse 3
·      The qualities required of any candidate that must qualify were well spelt out by the king. Initial preparations and wisdom are requirements – verse 4
·       King’s delicacies were appointed for daily portion. Well balance diet to ease learning and boost intelligence – verse 5
·       Daniel opted out of king’s daily portion of delicacies, chose pulse and water instead. Discipline, wisdom and fear of God – verse 8
·        Daniel’s wisdom was put to test- wisdom that is not tried and proven is of divine origin – verses 12 - 15
·       God gave Daniel and his friends, divine wisdom and understanding. God gave Daniel ability to understand visions and dreams – verse 17
·       Finally Daniel and his friends were ten times preferred to others.

Source of wisdom
Wisdom is from God the creator of the heavens and the earth. The bible tells us that the Lord God founded the world by wisdom and established it by understanding – Pro. 3:19.

God is the giver of wisdom because the real wisdom comes from Him (James 1:5).
The wisdom of God is above all and is unbeatable by any technology or by any wisdom of this world.

God’s wisdom can only come from above and not from abroad. The wisdom from God (above) is first pure, peaceful and easily entreated (James 3:17). The bible also established that Jesus Christ is the power and the wisdom of God (1cor. 1:24).

Who can have the wisdom of God?
God’s wisdom is available for everyone who truly desire it and is ready to do whatever is required to have it.
The part of wisdom is the part of humility and submissiveness. It takes humility and total submission to God and His will to be wise.

We cannot afford to remain in the same level of wisdom with the people of the world because the wisdom of this world is foolishness unto God (1cor. 1:20 – 21; 27).

How can one have divine wisdom?
·         If you must have God’s kind of wisdom, you must develop a relationship with Him through our   Lord Jesus Christ. This is the first qualification to God’s wisdom
·        You must fear God and walk in His ways – Job 28:28,
·        You must embrace the word of God dearly to your heart – 2Tim. 3:15
·        You must be ready to walk in the part of wisdom – Hos. 14:9
·        You must ask and pray for wisdom – James 1:5
·        You must allow the Holy Spirit to fill your life, He is the Spirit of Wisdom – Job 32:7-9

In conclusion, we all need the wisdom of God to go through this age if we must succeed and excel in all that the Lord our God has called us to do on this earth (Pro. 4:7).

PATHWAY TO GOOD SUCCESS

God wants every one of us to succeed. He delights greatly in the prosperity (all-round wellbeing) of His people.

Furthermore, He wants us to succeed in that which He has called us into.
Good success demands that we consciously walk in the full exploration of our God-given mandate
(Remember: youre here on an assignment!)

After the death of Moses, when the spiritual leadership baton had been passed on to Joshua, the Lord had to inspire him and charge him up for the task ahead of him.

We want to explore some of the instructions that the Lord gave to Joshua, the son of Nun (he was formerly referred to as the servant of Moses)

As we follow these instructions and apply them to our daily living, we receive grace to fulfil our God-given assignment.

In Joshua 1:8, the instructions are clearly spelt out as:

Delight
This implies that you cultivate a lifestyle of reading the Word of God and speaking the Word. ‘…it shall not depart from your mouth…’
You must develop a strong appetite for the Word of God (Psalm 1:2).

Meditate
Having read the Word Move on to the level of digesting the Word. Reflect upon what you have read. Think deeply upon it. If there is a portion you dont understand, you can seek for Godly counsel.
Psalm 1:2; 119:99; 1 Timothy 4:15.

Observe
It means to notice, examine, or perceive something and register (document) it as being significant. This implies that you keep a mental note and proper documentation of the Word of God.
Gleanings from the altar must be well kept and properly documented as they will come in handy in the future.
Matthew 28:20

Do
Be a doer of the work! (James 1:22-25)
As you commit yourself to doing, you set the pace for prosperity in all your endeavours Psalm 1:3.
Receive grace to be a committed doer (John 14:12).

Make
Thereafter, you become responsible for making your ways prosperous. Through the revelation knowledge of God and the dimension of the Spirit, you proffer solutions to persisting problems Psalm 1:3; Genesis 26:13; 30:25-43; 39:1-6.

Have
After these things, you will have good success.
Good success suggests that every part of ones life is in alignment with Gods will and purpose.
2 Timothy 4:1-8
