HE IS NOT HERE; HE IS RISEN….

HE IS NOT HERE; HE IS RISEN….
Bible reading – Mat. 28: 1- 10

Mt 28:1 In the end of the sabbath, as it began to dawn toward the first day of the week, came Mary Magdalene and the other Mary to see the sepulchre.
 2 And, behold, there was a great earthquake: for the angel of the Lord descended from heaven, and came and rolled back the stone from the door, and sat upon it. {was: or, had been}
3 His countenance was like lightning, and his raiment white as snow:
4 And for fear of him the keepers did shake, and became as dead men.
5 And the angel answered and said unto the women, Fear not ye: for I know that ye seek Jesus, which was crucified.
6 He is not here: for he is risen, as he said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay.
7 And go quickly, and tell his disciples that he is risen from the dead; and, behold, he goeth before you into Galilee; there shall ye see him: lo, I have told you.
8 And they departed quickly from the sepulchre with fear and great joy; and did run to bring his disciples word.
9 And as they went to tell his disciples, behold, Jesus met them, saying, All hail. And they came and held him by the feet, and worshipped him.
10 Then said Jesus unto them, Be not afraid: go tell my brethren that they go into Galilee, and there shall they see me.

Introduction
John 3:15 says, “Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends”
The resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ from death signifies the highest love that can ever be demonstrated here on earth.
It is a vision comes true, a destiny fulfilled. And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shall call his name Jesus: for he shall save his people from their sins. Matt. 1:21
Jesus came to reconcile mankind to God so that man can be saved. Someone said, “Jesus paid a debt he did not owe, because we owe a debt we could not pay”

Some of the significance of Jesus’ resurrection

1.   The resurrection of Jesus from death brings life to the body of Christ and as many as will believe in him (Jesus Christ) John 3:17-18, John 11:25-26

2.   The resurrection of Jesus from death brings victory over sin – Rom. 6:5-6, 14

3.   His resurrection quickens the believers from both spiritual and physical death – Rom. 8:10-11

4.   His resurrection increases and releases for us an undaunted faith – 1Cor. 15:12-14

5.   Jesus resurrection releases God’s grace to us so that man can now come before Him through His son Jesus Christ –

Limitations against full benefit of the resurrection of Jesus Christ

Unbelief  against:

1.   The word of God

2.   The testimonies of God’s people
