THE POWER THAT WORKS IN US

Ephesians 3:20

God has placed within every one of us, tremendous power through which we become prosperous and attain good success. The seed of greatness lies within you. The treasure of excellence dwells inside you (2 Cor. 4:7).

There is a spirit in man, the inspiration of the Almighty gives them understanding (Job 32:8).

The desire of God is that we keep showing forth the excellence of His beauty, which dwells within us, so that the knowledge of His glory will spread forth and fill the earth as the waters cover the seas...

The Ephesian church had a good antecedent. Apostle Paul, in his letter to them, made reference to the good testimonies made concerning their faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and love for the saints (Ephesians 1:15).

When Paul came to Ephesus, he met some disciples, asked them concerning the Holy Spirit, about whom they knew nothing. He taught them, baptized them in the name of Jesus, laid hands on them and they received the Holy Spirit…

At different points in our lives, we need Godly assigned agents who will lead us to higher grounds, deeper roots, greater dimensions...

These servants of God (apostles, prophets, evangelists, teachers, pastors) charge us up, they stir up our spirit to attain greater exploits, to reach out for more…

They challenge us never to remain complacent in life!

There is more... Are you being stirred up in your spirit that there is much more?
Are you maximizing what God has deposited within you?
Have you received the baptism of the Holy Spirit since you believed?
If you have received the baptism, what have you done with it?

The power that works within us is the power of the Holy Spirit. It's the same power that raised up Jesus from the dead (Romans 8:11). It is through the power of the Holy Spirit that God brings our hearts, thoughts and ways in total alignment with His, such that when we speak, we speak as the oracles of God, and He seals it up with divine authority.
Ephesians 3:14-21; 1:15-22

In Revelation 2, our Lord, Jesus Christ wrote a letter to the church in Ephesus…
I'm not ashamed of the Gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God unto salvation to them that believe unto salvation... (Romans 1:16).

Whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.
How shall they call on Him in whom they have not believed?
How shall they believe in Him of whom they have not heard?
How shall they hear within a preacher? How shall they preach except they be sent?

As it is written... (Romans 10:13-15).

There is yet more...!!! More blessings to receive, much more to release!
More exploits to be made for God's kingdom! More souls to be won!
More disciples and ambassadors to be raised for Christ!
More kingdoms and territories to be subdued!
Through the power that works in us... The power of the Holy Spirit.

THE CHURCH OF GOD

1 Timothy 3:15-16

The Church of the living God is the house of God. It's also the pillar and ground of the truth. The Church of God should set the pace for strategic leadership in any given nation in the world.

Nations and people in the world are not fulfilling their God-given mandate; many have even lost the faith, all because the church is fast losing the significance of its existence...
Jesus said, ‘…Upon this rock, I will build My church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it’.

The church of God (Ecclesia in Greek) is a gathering or an assembly of two or more people in the name of Jesus Christ (Matt. 18:20).

An important thing to note here is that, the name of Jesus is not just a signature for opening and closing prayer... rather, it's a power of attorney given to us to represent Jesus in any situation, as we remain under His authority (John 14:13-14; 15:16).

May the Lord stir up the church of our generation to wake up to this divine call.

Some of the features (qualities) of the early church were:
  • Absolute commitment to evangelism
  • Discipleship (teaching)
  • Fellowship (having things in common) - spiritual bonding
  • Generosity
  • Communion
  • Prayer
  • Brotherly love and kindness, etc.

In Acts 3, Peter and John went up to the Temple at the time of prayer, under the power of this corporate anointing. Each of them also had a direct encounter with the Holy Spirit.
The power of the Lord broke forth such that, a man who had been lame right from his mother’s womb was healed by the mighty hand of God.

This man who had previously never been privileged enough to see the beauty of the Temple, walked into the Temple, praising God…

The word of the Lord grew and the number of the men increased to five thousand (Acts 4:4).

The grace of the Lord will rest upon us as we rise up to fulfil this heavenly mandate, in the name of Jesus Christ.

BUILDING A TRANS-GENERATIONAL LEGACY

What we do today determines our outcome tomorrow. Are you building the future of your life on Christ the solid Rock?

As a parent or intending parent, are you training up your children in the way of the Lord, or preparing the platform for raising God-fearing children who will not compromise their stance but commit themselves wholly to God’s plans and purposes?

The world will read through your children (whether your biological children or spiritual children) and conclude what manner of father or mother you had been. They are the letters you send into the future...

‘As arrows are in the hand of a mighty man; so are children of the youth’ (Psalm 127:4).

The shooting of the arrows represents the raising and deployment of sons into the world for the furtherance of the Gospel of the Kingdom…

The process of raising sons (ambassadors/disciples) for Christ must be done persistently and consistently. The continuity of such is what makes the Church of God to become the ground and pillar of the truth…

The mandate is to possess the gates of the enemy (Gen. 22:17).

What spiritual investment are you making into your children today?

Behold, I and the children whom the LORD has given me are for signs and wonders in Israel… Isaiah 8:18

‘But if you refuse to serve the LORD, then choose today whom you will serve. Would you prefer the gods your ancestors served beyond the Euphrates? Or will it be the gods of the Amorites in whose land you now live? But as for me and my family, we will serve the LORD’ Joshua 24:15

Let’s quickly examine three people who successfully built trans-generational values (legacies):

Abraham – Genesis 18:17-19; Genesis 24; Hebrews 11:9
Jonadab – Jeremiah 35
Luis – 2 Timothy 1:5

How can I build or sustain transgenerational legacy?

Give yourself wholly to Godly virtues and values. 1 Timothy 4:12-15
Learn, receive, hear, see and do… Phil. 4:9
Learn these values, cultivate them and pass them on to others. 2 Timothy 2:2
Endure hardness (embrace the force of discipline). 2 Timothy 2:3
Psalm 112:1-3.

JUSTIFIED BY FAITH

The Bible says, ‘The just shall live by faith...’ (Hab. 2:4; Rom. 1:17; Gal. 3:11; Heb. 10:38).
And without controversy (beyond every doubt), great is the mystery of godliness:
God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit....i.e. He was raised from the dead (1 Tim. 3:16; Rom. 1:4-5).
If Christ had not risen, our faith would have been nullified (1 Cor. 15:12-19).

The stone in the tomb could not hinder the manifestation of the risen Christ.
The stone was only rolled away for those who went to the tomb to go in, to confirm that the tomb was empty....
Christ had risen!!!

In Acts 5, the apostles were set free by the supernatural hand of the Almighty God. While the prison doors remained shut securely and kept under the watch of the guards, the Lord made a way for them… (Acts 5:17-23).

In Acts 12 – Herod kept Apostle Peter in prison, but the church of God interceded (fervently) on his behalf. An angel of the Lord brought him out of the prison through the mighty hand of God (Acts 12:5-11).

In the Old Testament, Moses and the people of Israel had to cross the Red Sea on a dry land.
Joshua led the people to cross the Jordan River.
Elijah and Elisha both parted the waters to walk through.
But out Lord Jesus Christ needed not to part any water, He walked on the waters...

Not even the stone at the entrance of the tomb nor the grave could stop Him!
Nothing can stop you... because Christ is risen! Jesus is alive forever more!!!

By faith, we receive the quickening of the Spirit... by faith we go from strength to strength
By faith we attain greater heights
By faith we spread further, getting deeply rooted in Christ, that we may bear much fruits!

Grace had always been in existence. For that grace to spread beyond generations, it had to be brought on the platform of righteousness which is a product of faith. All these are embedded in the Gospel.
Rom. 1:16-17; 4:16-17
Gal. 2:19-21

By faith, we receive the baptism of the Holy Spirit.
By faith, we operate in the fullness of God’s power.
By faith, we live with eternity in view, conscious of and awaiting the manifestation of Jesus Christ our Lord...
By faith, we walk in victory, living beyond the realm of ungodliness and walking in the newness of life...

By faith, we receive and recover all that has been freely given to us

By faith we are raised from the dead and made to sit together with Christ in heavenly places...
