What we believe (GAC Tenets of Faith)

What we believe (GAC Tenets of Faith)
Tenets are principles, beliefs, ideas, doctrines held by members of a group, profession or movement, as being true.
These are bible-based principles that are given priority in the church. They are the foundational pillars upon which the core values of the church are built.
1. We believe that all scripture is given by inspiration of God (2 Tim 3:16).

2. We believe that the Holy Communion is Christ’s institution and we should do it in commemoration of Him (1 Cor. 11:24 – 25).
3. We believe that Jesus Christ will reign for one thousand years on earth with His saints (Rev 20:6 – 7).

4. We believe in baptism by immersion (Matt. 3:16, Acts 8:38 – 39)
5. We believe in the baptism of the Holy Ghost with the signs following (Mark 16:17)

6. We believe in the second coming of our Lord Jesus Christ (John 14:3, Rev 1:7)
7. We believe that government on earth is from divine origin and every soul should be subject unto the higher powers (Rom 13: 1 – 3, Dan 5:21)

8. We believe in unity of the Godhead and the persons therein of the trinity (1 John 5:7 – 8)

9. We believe in the real depravity of human nature necessitating salvation through repentance and regeneration and also in everlasting punishment of the final impenitent (Rom 3:23, Luke 13:3).

10. We believe in justification, as God’s grace acquitting the sinner, as one standing that has never sinned before God and sanctification of the believers through the finished work of Jesus Christ in obedience (Rom 5:1 – 5)

11. We believe in divine healing of bodily ailment through faith and in obedience in the sacrifice of the precious blood of Jesus Christ which is obtained in His name only. (Mark 16:17 – 18)

12. We believe in the obligatory work of tithes and offering in obedience to God’s command (Mal 3:10 – 12).
