The Gospel is the power of God unto salvation. For
within the Gospel lies the power of an endless life that births godliness and
lively hope in us. When the Gospel is being preached and there is no sober
reflection, or something does not kick within you, check or watch it!
There is
a contravening value system (2 Cor. 4:3-4). The Gospel carries within it
everlasting light that shines (2 Cor. 4:6). Anywhere the Gospel is preached, it
is God standing in the eternal background declaring or speaking forth the Light.
The question then is, what value system of yours responds to the word of God?
The incorruptible seed of the Word of God is imparted in us through the Gospel,
whereby we become partakers of divine nature.
The Gospel carries the life of God. It is the power of God that quickens and changes the sinner. It is the Gospel that delivers us from darkness and translates us into the Kingdom of His dear son (Col 1:13).
Within the Gospel, the righteous of God is revealed
from faith to faith, as it is written, the just shall live by faith (Rom 1:17).
The Gospel reveals the righteousness of God. And, the Gospel inspires faith.
Wherever there is faith, there is righteousness. Abraham believed God and it
was credited unto him as righteousness (Rom 4:3). Noah believed God, and in it,
he condemned his unbelieving generation (Genesis 6-9). Enoch also walked with
God. What brings about faith is the Gospel (Rom 10:14-15).
Talking about righteousness, to be righteous is to be moved or be in the straightway. Righteousness has to do with straightforwardness. It also connotes living as required or living correctly. God is the ultimate standard of right standing before Him. The Gospel reveals the right way before God. Through the Gospel, the way of God is revealed unto us; and we are empowered to live thereby.
In
John 1:29, John the Baptist referred to Jesus Christ as ‘the Lamb of God that
takes away the sin of the world’. He dealt, not only with sins, but with sin
(the sinful nature), that is, the old Adamic nature in us. Through the Gospel,
you receive the consciousness of that light (Rom 6:14).
The Gospel must first be published to all men. And
as the Gospel is preached, it must be received (1Cor 15:1). Have you received
the Gospel of our Lord, Jesus Christ? The Gospel carries the solution to life’s
problems. It is the antidote for the sin problem. All the negative things
happening across the globe are the consequences of sin.
They emanate from the
spread of the old Adamic nature. The Gospel is the solution to the law of sin
and death. Through the Gospel, the seeds of God are raised to propagate the
good tidings of God. It must be reiterated that the preaching of the Gospel
must be received (John 1:12). In receiving the Gospel, you stand.
Through the Gospel,
you are immovable and unshakable. (1 Cor. 15:1-2). The Gospel of Christ supersedes
every other thing (1 Cor. 15:3). But sadly, many things have replaced the Gospel
today. The Gospel plays a vital role in the proclamation of the message of
God’s kingdom.
Furthermore, it must be received! And, what you do not receive, you cannot deliver (Acts 3:6). The centrality of the Gospel is the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ (1 Cor. 15:3-4).
