1Samuel 16:1 -13.
As the saying goes, ‘’preparation precedes performance’’. God is surely
preparing these last day saints for His move and end time revival. God’s desire
to have men perfectly realign to His image is a continuous exercise as far as He
is concerned. The move of God and the end time revival for this last day is
very dear to His heart. God is searching for men and women to whom He can
entrust this great mission. The bible says, ‘’For the eyes of the LORD
run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to shew himself strong in the behalf
of [them] whose heart [is] perfect toward him’’. 2Ch 16:9.
Are you prepared to be one of the people God is
seeking for?
What is
revival?
Revival is the consciousness of God in
man. It is a sensitivity of the presence or the power of God in man, creating
an unusual burden to be holy and bring others to the state of holiness. It
often begins with one man whom God desires to use as an agent of revival. But
it does not stop with him, rather, it then becomes a burning desire for him to
see other going through the same experience.
The agents for revival
In every
generation, God’s preferred vessel to bring His deliverance (revival) to
mankind has always been human vessel. The entire bible is the compilation of
records of people whom God has used in their generations to bring revival upon
His people. Saints like Abraham, David, Jeremiah, Ezekiel, the Apostles of
Jesus Christ, etc, are human instruments or vessels that God used as His agents
for revival. Jesus Christ Himself is not left out of the list. He came to earth
to reunite the humanity to divinity. All these people were fully prepared for
the task for which they were used. This is the reason God is calling you and me
today.
But ye [are]
a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people;
that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of
darkness into his marvellous light: - 1Pe 2:9
Tools God
uses to bring forth revival
The people that God uses to bring revival
to their generations are usually equipped and prepared before they can be used.
They are not released until they have been thoroughly furnished. God will have
to set you aside before He can use you.
And he goeth up into a mountain, and calleth [unto him] whom he would: and they
came unto him. (14) And he ordained twelve, that they should be
with him, and that he might send them forth to preach, (15)
And to have power to heal sicknesses, and to cast out devils: - Mar
3:13-15
You can come to God the way you are but He
would have to shape you the way He wants. So to equip and prepare His chosen,
He makes use of the following:
The word of
God
The very point of call to relate with man,
as far as God is concerned, is through the revelation of His word. The real
revival starts from the word of God. It is the revelation of the word of God
that gives birth to the real revival. God will not do anything except He first
of all reveals it in His word and sometimes through His servants. Every man
that God ever use to bring revival to his generation is without a revelation of
God’s word. Men like Moses, Jeremiah, Ezekiel, John and the Apostles of Jesus
Christ only succeeded because the word of God was revealed to them.
The Holy
Spirit
The Holy Spirit is another important agent
that God uses to bring revival upon His people. For anyone to experience true
revival, you must have an encounter with the Holy Spirit of God. The bible says,
‘’It is the
spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak
unto you, [they] are spirit, and [they] are life’’. - Joh 6:63 . The Holy Spirit is so
vital that the early apostles could not have been able to accomplish much
except through His help. At this end
time, God has promised to release His Holy Spirit upon all flesh. This will
only be for those who are ready or prepare to receive Him.
Joe 2:28
And it shall come to pass afterward, [that] I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh; and your sons
and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young
men shall see visions:
Prayers
Lastly,
prayer is also one of the tools that God uses to bring revival. Like someone
said,’’ the revival we enjoy today is as a result of the prayers some men
prayed yesterday’’. Imagine Daniel keeping quiet when he was supposed to be
praying for the salvation of the Jews, or Esther and other Jews refusing to
pray when Haman was treating, perhaps, the situations would just persist. - Act 1:14, Act 2:1-4, Act 4:31-32.
