WHERE ARE YOU?

Bible Text: Genesis 3:8-12
“And they heard the voice of the LORD God walking in the garden in the cool of the day: and Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the LORD God amongst the trees of the garden. And the LORD God called unto Adam, and said unto him, where art thou? And he said, I heard thy voice in the garden, and I was afraid, because I was naked; and I hid myself. And he said, who told thee that thou wast naked? Hast thou eaten of the tree, whereof I commanded thee that thou shouldest not eat? And the man said, the woman whom thou gavest to be with me, she gave me of the tree, and I did eat.”

Introduction:
Location is one of the few most important parts of any man's life. By one's location you can almost tell the destination of such individual. It is your location most of the time that dictates your position, where you are determined, and where you are heading for. Thus, it becomes imperative to consider our current position vis-à-vis where God wants us to be.
While it is true to an extent that your location is very important in determining the success or failure of your life, it also may not always follow that you will be successful or bankrupt because of your geographical location.

Your Statutory Location
When God asked Adam where he was, God was not just asking for his geographical location within the garden, but rather God was asking just as He is asking you and me where we are in:
1.        Your spiritual status
We are called to be spiritually minded and be upright in all our ways. His specific instruction to believers is that we should be holy and walk before Him with perfection.

2.        Your God-given ministry
Where are you in the ministry God gave to you? A lot of us had forgotten all about the ministry God gave to us, we now run after the things that God said He will give us as bonus. We have left the place of ministry for the place of money seeking and worldly pleasure. Col.4:14, 2Tim.4:10
Col.4:14
“Luke, the beloved physician, and Demas, greet you.”
2Timothy 4:10
“For Demas hath forsaken me, having loved this present world, and is departed unto Thessalonica; Crescens to Galatia, Titus unto Dalmatia.

3.        Your marital status
Our matrimony as the body of Christ is a point, a location or position God has put us and He expects to find us ever faithful and fulfilling His purpose there. Your matrimony must be kept pure and holy. No form of intrusion must be allowed by a stranger.
Heb.13:4
“Marriage is honourable in all, and the bed undefiled: but whoremongers and adulterers God will judge.”

4.        The stewardship God committed in to your hand
God has placed in the hand of everyone a stewardship, but how faithful are we in what God has placed in our hands?
1Cor. 4:1-2
“Let a man so account of us, as of the ministers of Christ, and stewards of the mysteries of God. Moreover it is required in stewards, that a man be found faithful.”

Consequences of Not Being Where God Wants Us to Be - Gen.16-20
Failure to be where God desires that we should be will definitely lead to but not limited to the following:
·        We lose our position in God.

·        We become dead spiritually.

·        We become slaves to sin and devil.
