The Missing Jesus

  The Bible explained to us what Joseph and Mary’s went through in keeping Jesus alive.

(From Bethlehem of Judaea to Egypt to Galilee in a city called Nazareth)

These shows to us that they were not the type who could be careless but yet    they     

misplaced Jesus

THIS ARE POINTERS TO KNOW IF ONE IS ABOUT TO OR IS ALREADY OUT OF TUNE WITH THE MASTER.

1.      When genuine spiritual experience degenerate into feasts and customs.

“Luke 2:41 Now his parents went to Jerusalem every year at the feast of the passover.”

·         The Passover became an ordinary feast to the children of Israel

·         Religious activities no longer carry any spiritual experience in people’s life anymore

·         All the things of God have now becoming just a ceremony

2.      When you do not insist on measurable and discernable impartations each time you contact spiritual things. Luke 2:43

·         You must have some sort of encounter each time you appear in God’s presence

3.      When your relationship is not personal but hang on other people’s experiences.

Luke 2:44 But they, supposing him to have been in the company, went a day's journey; and they sought him among their kinsfolk and acquaintance.

·         When Jesus is missing in your life, where you seek for Him is also important

4.      When you are careless and your relationship with Jesus is a matter of guesses and presumptions.

·         Sometimes we move on in life, go into courtship, into marriage, into business, into great ventures etc. based on the assumption that Jesus is with us.

5.      Seeking for Jesus from a wrong platform.

“Luke 2:44-45 But they, supposing him to have been in the company, went a day's journey; and they sought him among their kinsfolk and acquaintance. ⁴⁵And when they found him not, they turned back again to Jerusalem, seeking him.”

·         Whenever you realize you have lost contact with Jesus, where do you seek Him?

STEPS TO RECOVERING YOUR LOST RELATIONSHIP WITH JESUS

A.      Make your relationship with God a personal experience.

Luke 2:45 ⁴⁵And when they found him not, they turned back again to Jerusalem, seeking him.

·         You must personalize your relationship with Jesus

B.      Do not act in haste, always be properly guided

And they went a day’s journey…………. Luke 2:44

·         Everyday you move without being sure of Jesus takes you farther from reality

C.      Repent, seek and follow Jesus only in His term

…they sought Him among their kinfolks…….. Luke 2:44

·         Whenever you discover Jesus is missing where you look for Him is important

“Isa.55:6 Seek ye the LORD while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near”

D.     Turn back to where you veered off in your spiritual journey

It is a serious step you must take

·         Go back to where you lost Him

E.      Rededicate you life you your maker.
