THE LORD HAS NEED OF US Matt. 21:1-11

Palm Sunday Service - celebrating the triumphant entry of Christmas into Jerusalem.

Right before the creation of the earth, God had pre-ordained man to be the crown of His

creatures (Psalm 8:4-6). (Mark 11:1-11; Luke 19:29-38; John 12:12-18)

Man has been crowned with God's glory and honour. We have been created in His image

and likeness. We've been configured to show forth His praise...

God wants to show forth His glory and majesty in the last days, He wants to stir up the

souls and hearts of men in a great revival that will precede the 'great harvest', but He will

make use of men - available men (human vessels).

Unfortunately, many of the men that should spearhead great things in the body of Christ,

and others who are supposed to be in the army of the living God, doing exploits for the

kingdom are presently tied down, chained and struggling under the yoke of the devil.

The Lord requested for the release of the ass (donkey) and its colt. '...loose them and

bring them unto Me', He said.

God wants to use you, including your God-given inheritance, so, they must be released...

(These include your health, your blessing, your children, your peace, your job, your

business, contact, ministry....destiny, etc).

Everything that has been tied down in your life is hereby released in the name of Jesus

Christ!

As this message comes to you, grace is imparted upon your hearts, to arise in the light of

God's Word.

Rise up from your chains, rise up from spiritual slumber, rise up from iniquity.

Awake O sleeper, rise up from the dead and Christ will give you light (Eph. 5:14).

People will definitely question you! The Master had seen it ahead, so He said 'if anything

asks you....declare: the Lord has need of them!

They did as the Lord instructed them and it worked for them the same way!

As they were going, the donkey and the colt were 'robed' with honour and majesty!

People came and started spreading their garments on the donkey and on the road.

When you yield to divine mandate (God's way), men will come and honour God in your

life.

Don't make the mistake of thinking it's you they are honouring, it's not you, it's Jesus...

'He must increase that I may decrease' (John 3:30).

When you carry Jesus, His glory and honour will definitely rob off on you...

When the Lord sits upon your life, He will take you to greater heights in life!

Hosanna! Hosanna! Blessed is He that comes in the name of the Lord...

The same people shouting 'Hosanna' today, would soon shout 'Crucify Him'...

Why did the Lord choose a donkey?

Zech. 9:9

The donkey signifies humility and meekness.

Everything about the Lord signified humility and modesty...

He came as a lowly servant on a donkey, not in a royal convoy; on the clothes of the poor

and humble, not in royal robes.

Jesus Christ came not to conquer by force, but by love.

He conquers not nations, but hearts and minds.

He authors and brings the message of peace with God, not of temporal peace.

The Lord has need of you! He wants to make you a channel through whom He will reign

triumphantly on earth and in the hearts of people through love and peace.

He will only make use of the humble and the meek, people who are willing to obey Him

at any cost.

The Lord has need of us!

Take the LEAD

Take the LEAD
Eccl. 10:16-17

Everything rises and falls on leadership. Every entity is as good as its leadership. An organisation, a business, government, church or family is a reflection of its leadership!
Leadership is the ability to influence and inspire an individual or a group of people to achieve worthwhile goals.
In our traditional culture, leadership is equated with position or title, but Jesus Christ introduced a paradigm shift on the subject of leadership, service-oriented leadership (Matt. 20:25-28; Mark 10:42-45).

SOME OF THE DEMANDS THAT LEADERSHIP PLACES UPON PEOPLE INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING:
Maturity/responsibility
Responsibility is not about just growing in age, it's about growing up! Take responsibility for your life, family, ministry, career, business, academics, etc...
(Isaiah 9:6; Gal. 4:1-2)
Discipline
It takes spiritual discipline to understand times and seasons (1 Chro. 12:32).
Through the Word of God, discipline is enforced. And where there is no access to the un-diluted Word of God, people cast off restraint...(Prov. 29:18).
We must ensure discipline in our drive for money, power, fame or recognition, sex, food, sleep, etc.
When your life is subjected to the Word of God, you gain mastery over sin!
Diligence
Diligence involves assiduousness, industry and fervency. Through diligence, we can ensure our calling and election (2 Peter 1:5-11).
A diligent man will always stand before kings (Prov. 22:29).
Spirituality
Spiritual insight (vision) which answers 'what', 'how', 'when' and 'where'.
Access to the mind of God (John 5:17-21)
Service (selfless service)
Jotham's parable deals with service (Judges 9:7-16).
Service is the essence of leadership.
Purposeful living - Daniel 1:8
David was a man of purpose (Acts 13:22, 36)
Worthless men, debtors, vagabonds, and frustrated folks went to meet him and he became their leader. These men eventually became mighty men of valour.

One underlying factor that drives all the above listed virtues is THE HEART.
Whether you are a son of nobles or a son of perdition, it's a function of your heart...

It takes a right heart to make an indelible mark in life (Prov. 4:23; 23:26)

Are you a responsible man/woman or a child?

As repairers of the breach and bridge builders, we must take the lead and build a superior infrastructure (foundation) for an enviable future, ahead of the upcoming generation...

It takes a man/woman who can drive himself/herself to drive others.
You can impact the world, you can be a world changer....it starts with YOU!

Allow God to perfect His work in you, right from your heart.
Give your life to Jesus...let Him change your heart, let him give you a clean, pure, perfect and purified heart (Ps. 24:3-6).
Thereafter, take the lead!

HOW TO BE A CHRISTIAN MOTHER TODAY.

Sermon: How to be a Christian Mother Today
2 Tim. 1:1-12

Sociologists, psychologists, psychiatrists, law enforcement officers, educators, and social workers are reminding us repeatedly of the importance of the home.
The influence of the home for good or bad had been the subject of many books, countless articles, and innumerable speeches.
While the family unit is made up of a man, a woman, and children, the woman is atthe center, and the lives of others are good to the degree to which the woman takes her calling seriously, making their welfare her major concern. In the 21st century, mothers face vast complex problems and challenges.
Although the mothers of yesterday faced some problems that are practically nonexistent today, the modern mother faces problems undreamed of a short time ago.
So this morning, I want to take some time for us to focus on our ladies and give
you three points on how to be a Christian Mother, especially in today’s society..

1. Consider Motherhood as a Christian Calling;
A)  There is a call to the ministry of preaching
1. There is a call to the ministry of religious education.
2. There is a call to the ministry of worship minister.
3. And there is a call to the ministry of missions at home and abroad.
B)   Let us recognize the high calling to Christian motherhood
1. It is basically the fulfilling of God’s plan and purpose for you ladies.
2. God designed the woman to be the help mate of her husband and to be the mother to her children; raising them in the ways of the Lord right alongside her husband.
3. Paul tells us in that whatever ministry we are called into, that we are to     press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus
C)   Eunice and Lois are still recognized today because they did an outstanding   job in training a son and a grandson.
1. The Christian mother should be a leader in worship
2. The Christian mother can be a professor of biblical knowledge
“And that from a child thou has known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus” (2 Tim. 3:15)
3. The Christian mother should be a teacher of Christian ideals.
4. The Christian mother should be an example of Christian graces.
“But continue thou in the things which thou hast learned and hast been assured of, knowing of whom thou hast learned them.” (2 Tim. 3:14)

2. Recognize Your Need for Help
A)  You need the help of God.
i. Make much of the Bible in your personal life
ii. Be familiar with the closet prayer, “But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which in secret;    and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly” (Matt. 6:6)
iii. Walk by faith, claiming the promises of God
iv. Follow the leadership of the Holy Spirit.
B)   You need the help of your husband
i. He should be a Christian leader in the home
ii. He should be a good steward
iii. He should be a servant of Jesus Christ
C)   You need the help of the church
i. There is no substitute for public worship
ii. Yours should be a wholesome and enthusiastic participation in the        church’s program of education, training, missionary activities, and worship

3. Dedicate Yourself to God
A)  Eunice and Lois sent Timothy forth as a servant of Jesus Christ
i. He was a man of immeasurable unselfishness
ii. He had the capacity for gentle devotion
iii. He was warm hearted and loyal
iv. He possessed charm and gentleness with tenderness and patience.
v. He was willing to sacrifice himself without reservation to the cause of     Christ.
B)   These qualities are such that only a consecrated mother and grandmother could bestow upon a child.
Conclusion
Perhaps the greatest contribution that you as a parent will make to the kingdom of God will be in the child or children you raise for his glory.
I pray that God will bless each and every one of you with the faith and grace that you need to do just that.
There can be no question concerning a mother’s need for Christ as Savior. If you have not trusted him, then today would be a good day to decide to let
Him come into your life. And there is no question that for a mother to be the best possible mother, her husband needs to be devoted to Christ as well. As the husband of your wife, you are the only man who can bestow this blessing upon her and upon your children. If you are not already doing so, then let today be the beginning.
Probably some here today have forsaken the devout teachings of a godly    mother. The best way you could honor either your living mother or your departed mother is by renewing your vows to her Lord and serving Him.
Today would be a good time to begin.
