IT IS MY YEAR OF VICTORY (DISCOVER A NEW YOU)
Joshua 17:14-18, Joshua 18:1

§  We make so much noise about our inheritance, our possession, our victory, our breakthroughs, etc but yet we will not venture out to possess them.
§       Whatever limitations you may be experiencing now, the good news is that the “the Wood Country” is waiting for you.
§       Virgin lands, new achievement, great impact, breakthroughs, etc are all waiting for you to take.
§  Rom. 8:19 says “For the earnest expectation of the creature waiteth for the manifestation of the sons of God.”
§     That job is yours, that business is yours, that admission is yours, that scholarship is yours, though the giants are still there but they will move as soon as you step in.
§      They are only permitted to be there until you arise.
§      All you need to do is to stand up, cut down the “Wood Country” and take possession.

THINGS TO NOTE WHEN SEEKING YOUR VICTORY
1.      CONFRONTATION IS INEVITABLE
§  If you are afraid to confront your enemy you will never defeat him.
§  For every demand for enlargement be ready to take territories.
§  Bible Reference: Joshua 17:17-18,
§  You have great powers at your disposal, you are not too small or too young, just think it, accept it, believe it and act it.
§ Jesus said in Luke 10:19: Behold I give unto you powers to tread on serpent and scorpion……………………
§ Paul said in 2Cor.10:4: For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty through God to the pulling………………………….
§  Paul said in Phil 4:13: I can do all things through Christ………………………………..

2.     BATTLES ARE FOR EVERYONE
§  When you boldly confront your battle then you will be crowned a “Conqueror”
§  Let us consider this Scripture. Duet. 20:1-4
§  Duet. 20:1 says; When thou goest out to battle
§  “When... not if” no one is exempted we all have battles of life that we need to fight
§  Area of battle may differ but we battle in one way or the other.
§  The devil is ready to engage you each time you take a step of greatness, it is up to you to either win or accept defeat.
§  Rom. 8:37 says: Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through (Him) Christ that love us

3.     ARISE
§  Another requirement for winning is “setting things in motion”
§  Deut. 20:1 says; when thou goest…
§  Only people who have the right strategy have the hope of winning
§  Strategy may be inform of;
Knowing which prayers to pray for your needed breakthrough,
The required exams or subjects for that course,
The certification required for that job,
The training required for that position
Getting the right information for that opportunity
§  Those great ideas are nothing until you do something with them.
§  If you run away from those problems today, you will return to meet them.
§  Stop dodging it, face it squarely and get rid of it once and for all.
§  Stand up from the drawing board, you have planned enough, become a DOER.
§  Confront your situation, your poverty, your sickness, your lack of admission, lack of job, etc with those great plans.

4.     HOW DO YOU SEE? (WHAT DO YOU SEE)
§  Duet. 20:1 says; when thou goest out to battle against thy enemies, and seest horses, and chariots, and a people more than you, be not afraid of them……………
§  You will always see your enemy looking larger than life but when you see with the eyes of the spirit they are just a stepping stone into greatness.
§  Ignoring a problem is not faith, it is foolishness. Faith is looking at an apparently insurmountable problem in the face with the spectacles of Scripture.
§  Heb. 12:2, Duet. 20:4
§  Elisha understood this principle when the Syrian army came and besieged him and his servant. 2Kings 6:15-17
§  Instead of looking at the Syrian army he saw the host of heaven ready to do battle on his behalf.

5.     STEP OUT
§  In Mark 16:15-20 as the disciple went in response to the great commission, the Lord also went with them working and confirming the Word with signs following.
§  The signs will not manifest until you step out.
§  Quote from George and Halen Jasze the author of born to win (We cannot discover new world until you have the courage to lose the shore. We cannot walk on water until we get out of the boat. Whoever restrains you from a fight has robbed you of your crown. Whatever stops you from starting your journey has denied you of your destination)
§  You cannot succeed if you maintain the status-quo or remain in one spot, Go for something new.
§  If the Israelite had not stepped out into the Red Sea, they will not have discovered the express road into their greatness. Exodus 14:15
§  If Peter had not stepped out he will not have discovered how to walk on waters
§  As long as all the men of Israel refused to go, Goliath remained a winner but when David arose a new chapter opened for Israel

In conclusion,
It is our year of VICTORY go out there and win your battles
If you must keep a company of friends this year, choose the company of the   courageous
Choose the company of the conqueror

It is time to conquer, so arise and shine for your time has come

UNDERSTANDING THE MERCY OF GOD

Understanding The Mercy Of God

Reading: Mark 10:46 – 52
"And they came to Jericho. And as He with His disciples and a large crowd went out of Jericho, blind Bartimeus, the son of Timeus, was sitting by the side of the highway, begging. And when he heard that it was Jesus of Nazareth, he began to cry out and say, Jesus, son of David, have mercy on me! And many warned him that he should be quiet, but he cried a great deal more, Son of David, have mercy on me! And Jesus stood still and commanded him to be called. And they called the blind man, saying to him, Be of good comfort; rise up, He is calling you. And casting away his garment, he rose up and came to Jesus. And answering Jesus said to him, What do you desire that I should do to you? The blind man said to Him, My Lord, that I may see again. And Jesus said to him, Go, your faith has healed you. And instantly he saw again, and he followed Jesus in the way."

What is mercy?
·         Mercy is kindness or forgiveness one receives from a superior in an exchange for bitterness.
·         It can also be said that mercy is an act of benevolence of easing distress. It gives fame instead of shame and glory instead of gory.
“Thou shalt arise, [and] have mercy upon Zion: for the time to favour her, yea, the set time, is come.” Psalm 102:13
·         Mercy like favour or grace is not obtained because of what good thing we have done to deserve it.
The Lord replied, “I will make all my goodness pass before you, and I will call out my name, ‘the Lord,’ to you. I will show kindness to anyone I choose, and I will show mercy to anyone I choose. 20 But you may not look directly at my face, for no one may see me and live.” – Exod. 33:19

However, there are some criteria for obtaining mercy from God.

Criteria for mercy
·         Willingness to be helped
·         Positioning oneself in the place of mercy – Matt. 12:17
·         Locating the place of mercy – Heb. 4:16
·         Seizing the opportunity for mercy
·         Being seen as the one who needs mercy
·         Fear of God attracts mercy – Luke 1:50

Forms of mercy
·         Mercy can come in form of forgiveness – Matt. 9:6, Mar. 2:9
·         Mercy can come in form of comfort provided by God – John 5:8
·         Mercy can also come in form of favour or help – Rom. 9:10 – 14
·         Mercy can come in form of deliverance from power of darkness – Jer. 30:18
·         Lastly, it can come in form of answered prayer – Ps. 86:16

How to obtain mercy from God
Mercy is of God. Anyone that must obtain mercy from God must:
·         Have faith in God – Heb. 11:6, Jam. 1:6-8
·         Believe in the word of God – Deut. 5:10
·         Accept the salvation of God – Heb. 2:3, 12:25
·         Be ready to  follow the Lord all the way – Mark 10:52

Conclusion
Mercy is the bread of the children, it is not meant for dogs. – Matt. 15:26

VICTORY IN CHRIST

VICTORY IN CHRIST
Deuteronomy 33:29

Victory is an act of defeating an enemy or opponent in a battle, game, or other competition.

Victory also implies gaining the competitive advantage over a rival or competitor.
(1 Cor. 9:24)

Life is a going-concern, therefore everyone needs victory at every stage of life.

The interesting thing is that the victory we secure in Christ is not limited to this side of life, it cuts across and extends to eternity.

Moses blessed the house of Israel and called them a blessed people, because the Lord is their shield and their sword of excellency and that their enemies will submit to God's purpose in their lives....(Deut. 33:29)

When God opens doors for you, the devil will definitely want to contend with you. In total obedience and absolute submission to God, resist the devil and he will flee (James 4:7)
Remember, victory won't just come on a platter of gold, you have to resist him (1 Peter 5:5-11).
Put on the cloak of humility!

Some other requirements for securing victory in Christ include but are not limited to the following:
  • Faith in Christ
  • The Word of God
  • Godly wisdom
  • The anointing of the Holy Spirit
  • Obedience to God etc.
For the purpose of today's message we want to limit them to the these three things used in Rev. 12:11;
  • The Blood of the Lamb
  • The Word of their testimony
  • The Cross (death to self)
If we must secure victory in the Lord Jesus Christ in year 2015, we must live by these three elements.

In 2015 and beyond, victory is yours in the name of Jesus Christ!
The Lord will give you victory in every fold of life, in all your endeavours...
